This is one of the most beneficial services we can provide for a healthy lawn. Core aeration is done by pulling 'plugs' of soil from the lawn.
Benefits of Core Aeration:
- Relieves soil compaction.
- Stimulates development of the roots.
- Allows fertilizer to penetrate into the root zone.
- Improves overall health of the lawn.
- Allows the lawn to breathe.
- Breakdown of thatch.
Having this service done in the Spring will ensure that your lawn gets all of the nutrients and moisture that it needs for the growing season.
Having it done in the Fall will help your lawn not to be too compacted during the long, cold Winter months.
We do not recommend having a Core-Aeration service done in the Summer because it is stressful on a lawn, which is already struggling against hot, dry weather.
Over-Seeding of a lawn helps to re-establish lawns that are thin due to shade, lack of water, disease or neglect. For the best results, this service is typically done at the same time as the Fall Core Aeration.
Why Over-Seed with the Core Aeration? Seeding at the same time as the aeration allows the seed to come into direct contact with the newly exposed soil, giving it an excellent place for germination.
Why Over-Seed in the Fall? By seeding in the Fall, instead of in the Spring or Summer, the new lawn has 3 full seasons to develop a strong root system before it will have to deal with the stress of hot summer temperatures.
